Much of his time was spent in the Mediterranean Sea and its ports of call. His assignments even took him into the Indian Ocean, as far as India. After an honorable, medical discharge, Hank went to work for the United States Air Force in the Strategic Air Command at Griffith AFB, in Rome, NY. Hank was in charge of the print shop and carried high security clearance. Upon his retirement, with many honors, he and his then wife, Dorothy “Dottie” (Lazarek) moved to Selma, Texas. After Dottie passed away, Hank met Dorothy Miller and it was love at “first sight.” He and Dorothy, “D” as he called her, married two months after they met and were happily married for 24 years.
