Lawrence (Larry) Charles Doeppenschmidt, II

lawrence (larry) doeppenschmidt, ii
Lawrence (Larry) Charles Doeppenschmidt, II, went to be with the Lord on Saturday morning, June 23, 2018. Before leaving, he made sure that his family knew he would be waiting to greet them with Jesus when they arrive in Heaven. Born April 7, 1950, Larry’s birthstone is the diamond and that’s what Larry was-a diamond in the rough. Hardest of minerals, unfinished, but so very valuable. He was full of knowledge on many subjects and always eager to share that knowledge and help anyone in his path. His greatest expertise and love was for classic cars and Bengal cats. His advice, freely given, was almost always right on target. Larry was the precious son of Lawrence (Debby) Charles Doeppenschmidt and Nadine (Enck) Doeppenschmidt. He was a proud graduate in 1969 of New Braunfels High School. He and Jonni Stewart were married December 24, 1970. He is survived by his wife, Jonni; daughter, Amy Davis and husband, Gabe; son, Lawrence Charles Doeppenschmidt, III, and wife, Flavia; grandchildren, Rhegan Davis and wife, Sara; Kymeri Davis; Isaya Davis and wife, Cherokee; Abigayle Davis; sister-in-law, Karen Stewart; sister and brother, Marva Heaslip and Alan Singleton; cousins, Lynn Norvell and husband, Bill; Debbie Elliot and husband Ray; Jeanette Wuest and son, CR Wuest; Holly Harrell and husband, Hubert, Michael Heck and wife, Cheryl, and second cousins and friends. The family very much appreciates the innumerable faithful prayers and loving acts of our wonderful family and friends and the Hope Hospice team. Jonni would especially like to thank Nile Riedel and all the New Braunfels Title Company family for their tremendous help and support. Special thanks to Kate Rheinlander, Mary Kristine Whitehead and entire Whitehead and McDonald family, Mark and Nicole Rogers, David Slimpin, Chris Logan, Dennis Biddison, Skip and Judy Rath and Fellowship Bible Church. Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 30 at Fellowship Bible Church, 4026 Morningside Dr., New Braunfels, TX 78132. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Options for Life or Hope Hospice.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Jonni and family, I thought of you often this weekend, even though I had not idea what you were dealing with. I have many fond memories of Larry from high school and from the present. I know that you have a big whole in you lives and your hearts. I hope it is a comfort at this time to know you will be together in eternity. I know there will be an time for you to adjust to his absence in on earth and in you lives. I will pray for you God’s comfort for you during that time. Much love, Peggy

  2. Jonni,

  3. Jonni and family,
Mike and I want to send you our deepest condolences in this time of grief. We were surprised to learn of Larry’s passing.
Mike and Larry have been buddies forever. Larry was truly a character. He was witty and funny and we so enjoyed being around him. I remember him from the days of the local boys hanging out at Comal Bowling Alley (late 60’s- early 70’s). He was the original “Fonzie” (much before Fonzie) with his slick back dark hair and his arm hanging out of a ’67 Super Sport Chevy Chevelle while smoking a cigarette circling the parking lot. Then on to Super Dog, Walt’s Triangle Drive-In, the Tower Drive- In Movie Theatre we would all cruise. Those were all happy memories of the past but Larry remained true to himself and was always the same great funny, smart guy we knew and loved. A shining light has gone out in New Braunfels for sure.
I know he will be missed terribly, especially by you Jonni, but Larry would want his faith in The Lord Jesus to comfort us all.
    May we never forget,
    Libby (Seman) & Mike Rust

  4. My condolences to the Doeppenschmidt families. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of dear Larry. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 36:28,29 which says “Your dead ones will live…They will rise up”. And the Bible also says “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it”. Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”. This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ’s ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you.
