In Loving Memory of Annyssa Rico

October 7, 1994 – July 26, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Annyssa Rico, age 31, on Sunday, July 26, 2026. Born on October 7, 1994, in New Braunfels, Texas, Annyssa was a beloved daughter, devoted wife, loving sister, and baddie’s baddie friend whose kindness and warmth touched the lives of everyone she met.

She graduated from New Braunfels High School in 2013. Shortly after graduation, Annyssa met the love of her life, Adrian Rico, and together they built a loving relationship founded on friendship, trust, and devotion. They were united in marriage on September 28, 2024. Together, they shared a deep bond filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support. Annyssa worked for Comal County Clerk’s office as a Deputy Clerk III for nearly seven years, where she was admired and respected by her coworkers. They described her as sweet, dependable, and exceptionally capable. She was known for her strong work ethic and confidence in her abilities, rarely needing assistance because she always knew how to get the job done. Her dedication and positive spirit left a lasting impression on those fortunate enough to work alongside her.

As one coworker shared, “Nyssa was our sassy, spunky sweetheart. She had a huge impact on our office and will be deeply missed. I loved her fighting spirit. She was a trusted leader, valued mentor, with a mind for excellence and a heart of gold.”

Annyssa was one of the biggest supporters of the people and community she loved. Whether she was cheering on her husband, encouraging family and friends, or supporting local businesses, she always showed up with enthusiasm and a generous heart. Her unwavering support, loyalty, and encouragement made others feel valued and believed in. She was truly the life of the party, bringing laughter, energy, and joy wherever she went. Her vibrant personality and infectious spirit lit up every room and left lasting memories for everyone fortunate enough to know her.

She enjoyed reading, shopping, and spending time with her beloved husband, family, and loved ones. Annyssa especially cherished the time she spent with her mother, creating memories that her family will treasure forever.

Annyssa was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother, Leticia; her uncle, Bobo; and other cherished relatives who held a special place in her heart. Their memories and the love they shared with Annyssa will forever remain a part of the legacy she leaves behind. Annyssa is survived by her loving husband, Adrian Rico; her parents, Andrea and Robert Rodriguez; her brothers, John Rodriguez and Richard Sauceda III; her sister, Savannah Sauceda; and numerous relatives, friends, and coworkers who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.

  11. Getting to know and love this family has been one of the biggest blessings I have encountered. Growing up, I always envisioned how my life would be like if I had a sister, and along the way, God found a way to give me just that. I wanted you to be there for so much. That night feels like a nightmare and I just want to wake up. I want you to call. I want you to come over. It’s so unfair and I’m so angry, but I am trying to find peace in knowing you live through everything and everyone you love. I miss you and I wish our plans for this weekend were still happening. I love you.

  12. I knew you through Sarah and Samantha. You were always nice to me. A real cool person. My condolences to your family. May you rest in peace 🙏🏽

  13. Nysa this seems so unreal!!! You fought so hard to get healthy!!! You were an inspiration without even realizing it!! Thanks for always giving the compliments, always telling us we don’t need a reason to put make up on just put it on for ourselves !!! You had a wonderful life you lived it to the fullest!!! FLY HIGH BEAUTIFUL!!!

  14. I miss you nyssa you always lit the room up with excitement and joy. still does not feel real going to miss you checking up after me and helping me when i needed it. love you nyssa…❤️😞

  16. My strong, wonderful, girl. We watched you grow and become an amazing woman. Our hearts are broken. We were so blessed to have you in our lives and you will live in our hearts forever.❤️

  17. Nyssa, I love you so much and thank you for being an amazing friend. We have had many laughs, deep chats and crazy days/nights together. I am so glad you were part of my life and I got to call you my best friend. Thank you for the best concert experience ever! I will cherish ever memory we have made from sing karaoke in the car to sitting in your front yard to you calling my siblings your pets. I still cannot believe this happened and I am still trying to process everything. I hope you rest easy and show everyone in heaven you are a baddie! I love you forever and fly high 💕

  18. To Adrian and Family, please accept my condolences and know that you all are in my thoughts and prayers. I worked along side Nyssa for 4 years and not a day went by that she didn’t at least make me giggle, let alone laugh extremely out loud. She will truly be missed. She exuded so much confidence and I admired that about her. Adrian, please take comfort in knowing that she loved you so very much. She talked about you every day and just last week we were talking about stressors at work and she said that this is just a job where you’re at for 8 hrs. She said I have a beautiful life outside of “here” and a great man at home who loves me.
    With Love.

  19. I never got the chance to meet Annyssa, but I know how much she meant to everyone who knew her. Seeing everything she accomplished, losing over 200 pounds, shows just how amazingly strong and resilient she really was and I am so proud of her! Although I never got to meet her, I would have loved to, and it meant so much to me seeing how much she meant to my sister, Maisie. I’m so grateful she got to know Annyssa and be a part of John’s family. I know it feels so wrong that she was taken from everyone so young, and while we can’t change what happened, all we can do now is keep her memory alive and honor the incredible person she was. My thoughts, prayers, and love are with everybody during this time. ❤️❤️❤️

  20. Please accept my heartfelt sympathy. There truly are no words at a time such as this. Praying that Gods peace, strength and comfort be with all that knew and loved Nyssa., especially her husband Adrian and their families. She was such a bright light in this world and she will be greatly missed by many. I had the pleasure of working with Nyssa through the years and she was always a joy to work with. May sweet memories fill the hole in our hearts and bring more smiles than tears. Our loss is heaven’s gain….and now we all have a beautiful guardian angel to watch over us. Rest in peace Nyssa.

  21. Nys,

Girl, I am so heartbroken that this world has lost such an amazing soul. I cannot begin to explain the light you brought into the lives of everyone around you. From the moment I met you at the County Clerk’s Office, I knew we were going to be close.

Although I had not worked there in a few years, I still thought of you every time I saw anything referencing a “favorite coworker.” You were definitely the reason I came to work every day—I mean, the paycheck may have had a little something to do with it too, LOL!

I will miss your presence here on Earth, friend. I will always cherish the time we shared and keep your memory close to my heart. I am so proud of you, and I love you, girl. Until we meet again.

    To the Family,

I am deeply sorry for your loss. I cannot begin to imagine the heartache and pain your family is experiencing. Please know that my thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with you all. I am praying your families peace, comfort, strength, and understanding during this difficult time.

  22. Praying that God holds all her loved ones close during this difficult time. May the peace of Christ fill all those broken hearts as they mourn.

  23. Annyssa so sad to know you were gone so young. I remember when you were born your mom and grandma Leticia loved you so much. I saw you grow as a baby and I always remember telling you that your grandma Leticia was my grandma and you would say no, she’s only mine. You were very, very loved by mom and grandma. I remember seeing you at Dairy Queen and I told you I wanted to go out to a restaurant to tell you how much your grandma loved you. But we never met ,and allot of times we take life for granted. I wish I would of known you growing up older. But when your grandma past I never again saw you I was so heartbroken to know your grandma Leticia was no longer with us. Your mom raised a beautiful daughter with lots of love. When you were having a 15th birthday I remember giving your mom a last doll think it was a lamp. My sincere condolences to the Rodriguez and Ricco family. May Annyssa R.I.P
