Richard “Richie” Blackler II

On August 14th, 2026 Richard earned his wings on his terms. His 57th Birthday being the next day he decided to celebrate his own way, going through Heavens Gates. He had bookmarked his daily Devotional to August 14th. Titled “The Fight”. “ I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.” Richard is no longer in pain, he is no longer suffering, he is celebrating.

Born in Phoenix, Arizona Richard at the young age of 3 became a Texan, his Father was transferred from Phoenix to, Amarillo, Lubbock, Abilene Dallas and finally Corpus Christi. An active young man, excelling in sports and academics at St. James Episcopal School, he loved baseball and art. Life soon changed forever for Richie, at age 14 while climbing a tree he fell 20’ onto concrete resulting in a Traumatic Brain Injury. Soon after Richie moved to Kingwood, Texas for better medical care where his Mother lived ,and he thrived. Richard lived in Kingwood, for 43 years, making many friends, never meeting a stranger, and helping those who could not help themselves, he graduated from Kingwood High School, where he excelled in academics Art as well as making forever friends.

Richard overcame his injury and was a self taught computer repair professional with many grateful customers that never received a bill . In 2025 Richard moved to New Braunfels, Texas to continue Cancer treatments and medical care near his Mother, where he maintained a courageous 10 month battle that would not stop him from smiling and reaching out daily to his friends, Richard discovered Bingo while in Assisted Living at The Blake, and quickly made
friends while there. Bingo was his favorite pastime, winning dozens of Gnomes for his talents! The ladies loved him, there, and he always cared about them. True to his Mantra, a Lion at heart.

Richard is survived by His Mother, Kerri Hart and Father Wes Hart of New Braunfels, Tx, Brother, Christopher Blackler and Georgia Blackler of Kingwood, Texas, Neice, Kimberlynne Blackler, Dallas, Texas, Neice Avery Blackler, Kingwood, Texas, Nephew Nathaniel Blackler, Kingwood, Texas, Nephew, Joshua Hawley, Soldotna, Alaska, Stepmother, Lynne Blackler, Corpus Christi, Texas, Uncle Robert Blackler of Florence, Az and many friends.
