Angelina Cano Alvarado, 84, of New Braunfels, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2013 in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born on November 12, 1928 in Mexico. She was the daughter of the late Paulino and Felicitas Cano. Angelina is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Rito Alvarado; children Rito (Brenda); Eleazar; David (Becky); Alicia (Erika); and, Daniel (Claudia). She had nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She will be forever remembered for her charming wit, her sense of humor and her innate ability to make everyone feel like family. She traveled to many places and had to relocate her family many times as an Army wife, but her love and devotion to family turned every house into a home. There was always room for one more at the table. There was always one more story to tell. And she could always squeeze in one more phone call just to see how you were doing. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Warm Springs Specialty Hospital in New Braunfels. Your professional and compassionate care was only exceeded by your dignified approach to end of life. Thank you for making her passing as comfortable and as stress-free as possible. A Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel (1254 Business 35 N.) with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at St.s Peter and Paul Catholic Church (386 N. Castell Ave.). Please note: there will not be a procession from the funeral home to the church on Friday. All wishing to attend the visitation and Funeral Mass on Friday are asked to meet at the church. The Funeral Mass will be held at 12:30 PM on Friday, May 10, 2013 at St.s Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery (1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd. in San Antonio, TX). Dinner will be served from 4:00 6:00 pm at El Jardin Mexican Restaurant (1837 Spur St.).
