Aprildawn Nieves Hand, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, June 17, 2012 in Comal County at the age of 26. Aprildawn was born on February 27, 1986 in Dumas, TX to Jack W. Hand and Ana M. Aguayo Hand. During most of her working career, Aprildawn was employed as a customer service representative in the retail industry. Aprildawn was a happy-go-lucky girl who loved and lived life to its fullest. She was never without a smile and thrived upon helping others-often putting other's needs before her own. Aprildawn was a girly girl, but at the same time was completely capable, and actually did, replace the brakes on her older sister's car. Dear Aprildawn, you will be sorely missed. You will always have a special place within our heart. Survivors include her son, Micah Esteban Hand; mother, Ana M. Aguayo Hand; brothers, Aliosha and Ian Hand; sister, Kima Hand; grandmother, Maria Aguayo; uncles and aunts, Pedro Aguayo, Patricio Aguayo, Myriam Aguayo, David Aguayo and wife, Tina, Jose Aguayo, Cecilia and Richard McCarter, Carmen and Nick Morris; 12 nieces and nephews; 19 cousins and a host of very dear friends. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 24, 2012 at the Community Bible Church, 2002 Spur St. in New Braunfels.

The last time I saw her she was riding with the Talons and supported a benefit for a individual whom had cancer at THE BEER GARDEN in New Braunfels. My husband Geronimo, played in the band that donated their time and music and I will never for the spunky attitude she has and the beautiful image she always carried… She was there to help others, may her family be blessed with the same at this time of sorrow and need..

I remember April as a little girl when she would be with Pepe, Angel, Adrian, Amy & Adam: she was a very beautiful child! I was so happy to have a friendship with her thanks to Facebook in the past couple of years. God Bless her beautiful son, Micah whom she loved so much & all her family & friends who are suffering by the tragedy of her loss! April, My daughter and grandson were first on the scene, and they prayed over you, knowing you were gone; but looking for a miracle. Find peace in the arms of an angel dear child. For God in his infinet wisdom must have needed another flower in his garden.

Words cannot begin to express my profound sorrow and pain with the loss of April. I will never forget the first time I met her while working with Ana. She was so young, energetic, and full of life and she never went with out a smile on her face… Oh and how she was very determined – even when she insisted I take her to blockbuster to get videos!! April will always have a very special place in my heart. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to have shared, laughed, and enjoyed happy memories together with April and her family. I am proud to say I knew this young lady, she was always in such good cheer and very loving. I may have known her for a short while but she was such a blessing. I love you April, you were an awesome and fun Cousin to have around. There was never a dull moment hanging out with you. I’m glad i got to live in Texas for 6 months and be able to spend time with you and work with you. I really have the best memories here because of you. You were like a big sister to me you helped me out so much and really were good at cheering me up. I am so shocked and saddened to hear about April’s death. I am the principal at Micah’s school. April was a wonderful classroom volunteer. We love both April and Micah dearly, so if there is anything Micah needs, please give Lone Star Elementary a call. We would love to help him if we can.
April, This all still does not seem real, & is still very hard to realize & know how to deal with. I keep expecting for you to show up w/ your happy spirit & smiles, & bring life to the party. Yes, you were stubborn & honery … but none of that matters at all. You are truly special & loved. I love and miss you dearly, & always will. I love you April. I miss you so much. And to be honest, there isn’t gonna be another woman that will ever replace you. I tried to love but its not like I felt it with you. Now that I got all these women helping me,move on. Not one of them were there when I needed them the most,you stood your ground and kept your promise.
