Benny Ray Whitehead, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2012 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 54. Benny Ray was born on February 1, 1958 in Muleshoe, TX to Nick Whitehead and Willa Faye Howard Whitehead. Benny Ray enjoyed softball and bar-b-quing and was an avid golfer. He was also the owner and operator of Expert Auto Haus in New Braunfels. He is survived by the love of his life of 27-years, Jeanne Jones Whitehead; children, Lyndon Joshua Whitehead, Zackary James Whitehead and Amber Rae Whitehead; parents, Nick and Faye Whitehead; brother, Nick Whitehead, Jr.; sister, Juanita and Don Salois, and granddaughter, Danielle Nichole Whitehead. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Oakwood Cemetery, 200 Front St. in Cisco, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Association.

  1. Benny, I am glad I had the pleasure of spending a couple days with you this year before you left us. We had a great time cooking Briskets for the Family reunion. I had always heard of your famous Briskets and was fortunate enough to finally learn from the Master. Ever since we were little boys I remember all of the good times we had as cousins. You were never at a loss for a good joke or prank and a real joy to be around. I will dearly miss you my Buddy. We have lost you here, but everyone upstairs is setting up the horseshoes, firing up the pit, and getting ready for a good laugh. Mark Smith

  16. Dear family and friends, I’m so sad to hear of Benny’s passing. Y’all are so lucky to have had him in your lives.. He was always the cool guy with the cool Camaro. (That I wanted so bad in High School ..but my dad said it was too fast for me…lol) I know from his family how much he loved his wife and family.
