Elizabeth "Betty" Jean Haley passed away at Sundance Inn, New Braunfels, TX at the age of 88 Years on March 4, 2012. Life began for Betty when she was born to Thomas F. Haley and Myrtle Allen Haley in El Reno, OK. She grew up in El Reno with her four siblings: Mary Claire, Clarence, Ruth and Frank. She was a talented opera singer who first shared her beautiful voice on her own radio show aired from El Paso, TX during WWII. She left El Paso to further her education in singing at Columbia University in New York. After spending her working life in New York, which included 20 years of service with both AT&T and Revlon, Betty relocated to New Braunfels. Betty was a member of St. Peter and Paul Church. Betty is survived by her niece, Pat Stover (New Braunfels); nephews: Robert Haley (Geary, OK) and Pat Haley (Houston, TX); grandnieces: Theresa Brown (Sonoma, CA), Suzanne Stover (New Braunfels), Carla Quinn (Austin, TX) and Tamara Keese (Vernon, TX); grandnephew: Richard Stover, Jr. A private memorial will be held for the family at the Comal Cemetery in New Braunfels where she will be interred by her sister, Mary Claire Dennis.
