Carmela Espinoza Zamarripa, age 50, and a life-long resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Carmela was born on May 8, 1965 in New Braunfels to Raymond Espinoza and Fermina Lopez Espinoza. She was preceded in death by her beloved first husband, Martin Zamarripa, who passed away in 2001; her father, Raymond Espinoza and by two nephews, Diego Saenz and Gabriel Aguirre. Survivors include her children, Christopher Espinoza and wife, Sabrina, Jennifer Velez and husband, Daniel, Priscilla Velez, Amber Velez and husband, Joseph, and Isidro Espinoza; her husband, Martin Lopez; mother, Fermina L. Espinoza; sisters, Elvira Sauceda and husband, Arnulfo and Angelita Espinoza; brothers, Jesus Saenz, Francisco Saenz and wife, Joanne and Edward Espinoza and wife, Evette. In addition, there are 15 grandchildren who will miss their grandmother dearly. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM on Sunday, February 21, 2016 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday, February 22, 2016 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, with the funeral service beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jesus Saenz, Francisco Saenz, Malachi Zamarripa, Christopher Espinoza, Christopher S. Espinoza and Noah Espinoza.
