Carroll Sue Rotan

carroll rotan
Carroll Sue Rotan was born May 1, 1948 in Rock Springs, Wyoming; spending the first few years of her life moving around the country, before settling in Texas in 1952. After graduating from Navarro High School in 1966, she went on to gain her certificate of cosmetology from the Beauty School of Seguin, and spent the next 25 years beautifying the residents of both Seguin and New Braunfels. Sue lived her life to the fullest as an amazing wife and loving mother; valuing family above all else. She was a wonderful artist, and loved to spend her days expressing that passion in both sculpture and painting. In her spare time, she was an avid reader, and a great friend to many. She passed away in her home on May 23, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. Sue was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Virginia Horton, and her father, James Pythagoras Gibbs. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Charles W. Rotan, of New Braunfels; her sons: Charles Rotan, Jr. and his wife, Karren, of San Marcos; Jason Rotan, and his wife, Corrine, of Austin; and one grandson, Charles (Wes) Rotan, III, of San Marcos. She is also survived by two sisters: Terry Moy, of Texas City; and Linda Lynn and her husband, Andrew, of Seguin. A service to celebrate her life will be held at the Walnut Street Church of Christ in Seguin, at 1:00 P.M., on June 7, 2014. The family has requested that in lieu of sending flowers, donations be made in her memory to the Harbor Hospice Foundation at www.harborfoundation.com/donate.htm
