Daniel Magallanes, a life-long resident of Seguin, passed away on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at his residence at the age of 77. Daniel was born on July 21, 1936 in Seguin to Manuel Tomas Magallanes and Pabla Sepeda Magallanes. He was an employee of Union Pacific Rail Road, retiring after 18-years of dedicated service. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Juan Magallanes and by a sister, Pabla Lupe Rositas. Survivors include his wife of 51-years, Maria Magallanes; children, Carmen Magallanes, Rosa Vigil (David), Norma Andrade, Daniel JR Magallanes, Rachel Molina (Mayo), Pete Magallanes (Tina), Mary Jane Magallanes and Robert Moreno, and Daniel "Boy" Magallanes (April); 26-grandchildren and 36-great-grandchildren; brothers, Apolonio Magallanes (Celia), Joe Magallanes (Mary) and Jesse Magallanes (MaryAnn); sisters, Benina Herrera and Maria Moreno (Manuel). Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 pm on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel, 1254 Business 35 N., New Braunfels, 78130. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 am on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Seguin with interment to follow at San Geronimo Cemetery.

  1. Our deepest sympathies to all the Magallanes family, especially my Tia Maria and my primos and primas. I will always remember uncle Danny for the great person he was, he always showed us a lot of love and always had a way of making you laugh no matter what. He will forever be missed, but will always be in our hearts. He has gone to meet our lord and now he will watch over all of us. May god give the Magallanes family the strength to get through this difficult time. You all are in our prayers. I will forever cherish the memories of my uncle Danny. God Bless!
