I will always be grateful for my friend, Dan. When I first came to Comal ISD, I was a young programmer that thought I knew what I was doing. After meeting Dan, I soon realized that I didn’t know half of what I should know. He was kind and patient with me and had a wealth of knowledge. There were many times that we worked together on projects and he taught me so much about what a real programmer really should be. I am honored to have known Dan in a professional sense, but more importantly, he was a good friend. The last time I saw Dan I expressed to him how grateful I was to him for everything that he had taught me and I told him that he would never know or understand the impact that he had on me. The amount of knowledge that he had and the amount of work that he did for the school district will never fully be understood as a lot of his work was done in the background, but I understood it. I don’t think he heard enough “Thank You’s” while he was working for the district, but I wanted to make sure that he knew exactly how grateful I was for everything that he did for me. Thank you, Dan. I will never forget you.
Dan was such a genuine person. I really enjoyed working with him and getting to know him. He was our hero when we had “technical difficulties.” He had such a sweet smile and I enjoyed the stories and pictures he would share of his dogs. God Bless you, Dan and your family.
