Debi Skalomenos Smith Her journey began on August 24, 1952, in New Braunfels Texas. Her love for children and education started at a young age, helping out at her Mother’s in home daycare. After high school, she went on to obtain an education degree at Southwest Texas State University. She then got a Job with New Braunfels ISD, where she taught for 38 years. Debi loved teaching, cooking, baking, traveling, reading, going to the movies and spending time with her loved ones. She also shared a love of dancing and singing with her daughter and granddaughter. Along with being an educator in the community, she also served as a member of the NB citizens police academy, a member of the Comal County Fair Association, and was also a dedicated 4-H and Girl Scout leader. Debi was a loving mother to her Daughter Tamsen, sister to her brother Greg, sister in law, YiaYia to her sweet grandchildren Asher and Zade, aunt, friend, teaching partner, mentor, teacher, and adopted mother to countless other people. She is preceded in death by her Father, Christopher Skalomenos, Mother, Crystal Knetsch Skalomenos and countless aunts, uncles and friends. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. “ John 3:16 Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday January 3, 2018 at Freiheit Country Store In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the NBISD Ed Foundation. ℅ Reagan Parks 430 Mill St. New Braunfels, TX 78130
