Dorothy Catherine House

Dorothy was born in Fairfield Highlands, AL, later moved and was raised in Birmingham AL. She married Ed House in Feb. 1946. They moved to Houston in 1957. Dorothy was a faithful member of Fair Haven Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and food pantry volunteer, as well as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout leader. She moved to Canyon Lake in 2009, and had her final years on her beloved Guadalupe River. She had many friends and neighbors whom she treasured and loved. She is predeceased by her parents John and Bertha Jones, and her husband Ed House. She is survived by children, Wayne House (Debbie), Cindy Gill (Bill), and Paul House (Debbie), grandchildren Christy, Katy, and Brandi, great grandchildren Devin, Lilia, Thayne, Brie, and Remy, and sister Anne Lockett. A Memorial Service will be held at Memorial Oaks Cemetery,Houston, TX on December 3, 2018 at 11am. Memorial at Canyon Lake, pending. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dorothy's honor to Kindred Hospice of San Marcos.

  1. My earliest memory of Dorothy was when she was a member of the sewing group, many of whom were my neighbors on Tappenbeck. They all loved her and spoke so highly of her. Perhaps some of them will be greeting her as she joins that heavenly group.
