Eddie Preston Zipp

Eddie Preston Zipp, age 75, a life-long mechanic and NASCAR fanatic, peacefully passed away early Thursday morning, June 4, 2020 in New Braunfels, Texas. Born September 4, 1944 in San Antonio to Edmund and Ruby Zipp, Eddie had a deep love for his family and cars and enjoyed playing music with friends. He was a member of the Gear Grinders car club and worked for many years at various places, including his own business, Zipp’s Automotive. He spent many, many hours working on and restoring his 1923 T bucket and especially loved teaching his family about cars. The family thanks everyone for their thoughts, condolences and support during this difficult time. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his children, Lisa Coats (Tim), Lori Garcia (Arthur), Shane Zipp (Tyler) and Krista Cabello (Fred); his sisters, Bernice Cooper, Lynn Smasal, Karen Duke, and Nancy Flowers. In addition, Eddie is survived by 18 grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held for close family and friends at a private residence.
