  1. Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss… Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time.

  2. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Sending so much love and hugs. God bless you and the fam.

  3. So sorry for your loss! Gretchen was a wonderful loving lady – always kind. I think she would love this tree planted in her name!

  4. My beloved cousin was absolutely fearless. When we were in our early teens (with no driver’s license), one Thanksgiving at our Grandparent’s in Durant, the four of us sneaked out to take a joy-ride. GG was behind the wheel and we cruised down the quiet, pitch-black streets of that sleepy little town. Feeling so grownup and invincible, we smoked cigarettes, sang along with the radio and trembled at the excitement of the night. Gretchen was the soul of our small group of cousins with whom we shared many years of love and laughter. Always the leader of our tiny group, she led us on many thrilling adventures that took us to the precipice of danger. Well, that fateful night, we unknowingly turned the wrong way on a one-way street and soon heard the dreaded sound of a police siren. The officer, knowing, Mom and Grandad, guided us home where our folks gave us a “what for.” Their secret giggles, I am convinced to this day, were hidden behind their scowls and scoldings. How blessed we were to have Gretchen in our lives. I always looked up to her. I love her eternally and miss her terribly. Mary Gay Caven
