Irma R. Hernandez, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Eden Hill Nursing Home at the age of 82. Irma was born on October 5, 1929 in Mexico to Pedro Rios Jimenez and Andreita Hernandez Gonzalez. She was preceded in death by her parents and by one infant son. Survivors include four daughters and their spouses; one son and his wife; 14 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren and one on the way. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 9:00 PM on Monday, September 24, 2012 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel with a Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. Visitation will resume on Tuesday morning, September 25, 2012 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Tuesday morning at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Roberto DeLong, M.S.F. Celebrant. Please note: there will not be a procession from the funeral home to the church on Tuesday morning. Those wishing to attend both the visitation and Funeral Mass Tuesday morning are asked to meet at the church at 9:00 AM on Tuesday. Interment will follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.

  3. I got to know Irma on my visits each 3rd Sat. as a Eucharistic Minister. Even though we had a language problem, she was a joy to visit and her deep faith was an inspiration to me. I will truly miss her and it was my honor to be with her.

  4. I came to know Mrs. Hernandez on my daily trips to Eden Hill while working for Guadalupe Regional Medical Center. She was one of my favorite patients. Even though I was there to draw her blood. She was always very compliant.She always invited me to come in and sit down because I was working to hard and I needed to rest. I have fond memories of her. Rosa my thoughts and prayers are with you & your family at this difficult time. God bless you.
