  1. I remember John pitching Fast Pitch Softball there in Denver Harbiur for years he was pretty amazing to watch. He helped me get my first real job at Baker Oil Tools and for that I am thankful. He was always happy and smiling and of good nature.

  2. My condolences to the Madden families. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of dear John. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: “Your dead ones will live…They will rise up”. And the Bible also says “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it”. Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”. This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ’s ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you.

  3. Back in the 70s I was blessed to have met the Madden Family. Randy , Greg and I became friends through some trail rides and school. I started going to their home on Fridays and Saturdays. Little did I know I would fall in love with their parents. John and his wife JoAnn were like second parents to me. I would listen to John and Randy play guitar while Greg was on the drums. I decided I wanted to learn how to play. I brought over a beat up sears guitar and Randy started showing me three chords. After the forth day or so John told me to use his guitar instead. There are very few people in this world that would let a 15 year old kid take their Gibson Guitar home to practice. This is what John did. He let me take it to my house so I could practice every day. He believed in me. He knew I was serious about playing. I will never forget him doing this for me. If he hadn’t I might have given up because playing on that awful sears looking guitar was painful to the ears. Randy might have shown me how to play but John showed me that a man can have trust in his kids and a boy that’s not even his own. He saw that I wanted to learn how to play and he made sure I started on a good guitar so I would not be discouraged.
    Thank You John

  5. Chyrel, I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. May the Holy Spirit comfort and help you and your family through this sad time.
It sounds from the comments you were married to one good guy! What a blessing for you all.
Did John persuade you to learn how to play the guitar?
Would love to hear stories of your life together if ever you fancy a stroll around Fischer Park, or lunch.
Take care of yourself sweet lady. (janjan78132@yahoo.com 830-822-6902.)
