Josefina S. Carrasco, age 83, and a resident of New Braunfels, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Josefina was born on December 6, 1932 in Matamoros, Mexico to Gregorio Sauceda and Paula Garcia Sauceda. She later married Carlos Carrasco, Sr., who preceded her in death on May 19, 1989. Josefina was a devoted, loving mother and housewife and a member of the Guadalupana Society of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in New Braunfels for many years, where she volunteered countless hours in the kitchen feeding the church parishioners. She enjoyed making dolls, clowns and pillows. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Lupe Sauceda, Pancha Sauceda and Bertha Leal; brothers, Pedro Sauceda and Juan Sauceda and by a grandson, Michael Carrasco. Survivors include her children, Juanita Medrano, Guadalupe Corona, Carlos Carrasco, Jr., Maria Flores, Isabel Carrillo, Christobal Carrasco and Amalia Carrasco; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers, Nestor Sauceda, Beto Sauceda and Goyo Sauceda. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary scheduled for 7:00 PM on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Chapel. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Monday, September 12, 2016 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with the Very Reverend Camillo Botello, Jr., MSF as Celebrant. All services will end at the conclusion of the Funeral Mass on Monday afternoon. PLEASE NOTE: LOCATION OF VISITATION AND ROSARY IS CORRECT AS STATED.
