Josephina Aleman Tristan, a life-long resident of New Braunfels passed away on Monday morning, January 9, 2017 at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital in New Braunfels at the age of 71. Josephina was born on March 27, 1945 in New Braunfels to the late Juan Enrique Aleman and Florencia Mendez Aleman. During her professional career, Josefina worked as a certified nursing assistant. In addition, she was a long-time member of the Guadalupanas Society of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church of New Braunfels. Josefina was preceded in death by her parents; son, David Alejos; three sisters and four brothers. Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Antonio B. Tristan; children, Emma Alejos, Gilbert Alejos, Martin Tristan, Lupe Esquivel, Eileen Martinez, Rachel Milewski, Angelica Tristan and Fabian Tristan; 22 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; brothers, Pete and Miguel Aleman; sisters, Elena Gomez, Elisa Aguilar and Esmeralda Ramirez. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with a Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Friday morning from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM at the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Chapel. The funeral procession will depart at 12:45 PM on Friday from the Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home Chapel to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, January 13, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Rev. Camillo Botello, Jr., M.S.F. as celebrant. Interment will follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery.
