Katheryn "Kay" Patricia Fleming passed peacefully into the Lord's comforting arms on May 15, 2013 at the age of 75. Kay was born on April 4, 1938 in Oilton, TX to Cleve J. Stine and Ann Stine. She was raised in Freer, TX where she attended Freer High School. She was a carhop at Dorman's drive-in. Later she became a telephone operator in Alice, TX for Southwestern Bell. In 1958, while in Alice, she met and married Robert A. Fleming. Kay was a proud navy wife who traveled until they retired and settled down at Canyon Lake, TX in 1973, along with their four children. Kay is survived by her husband, Robert A. Fleming; sons, Johnny Fleming, Robert C. Fleming and James Fleming and wife, Cris; daughter, Deanna Fleming and husband, Mario; grandchildren, Robert W. Fleming and wife, Karen, Garrison Maurer and wife, Sato, Katy Louthen and husband, Shane, Cody Fleming and wife, Jennifer, Jason Fleming and wife, Theresa, Giordan Aristeguieta and husband, Rick, Amanda Garcia and Jenna Garcia; great-grandchildren, Kellan, Paityn, Alissa, David, Luke, Liam, Isaia, Madison, Mikayla, Sydni, Noah, Andrew and Eric. Kay, also known by her loving family as "Nana", will always be loved and never forgotten. Her biggest pride and joy was her family. Visitation with the family will be held from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, May 24, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Canyon Lake, 13085 FM 306, Canyon Lake 78133, followed by the memorial service, which begins at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.

Our condolence to the Fleming family in the loss of Kay. Kay was such a amazing woman, wife, mother, and grandmother and the individual love she gave to each and everyone was special and admired by all. We are so thankful we got to know Kay and have wonderful memories of her kind smile and great wisdom. Our thoughts and prayers are with each of you in the loss of such a great person. Kay was a dear friend when I lived in Freer. We went to school together until the May 1953 when my family moved. I have not seen Kay since a class reunion in Corpus Christi, but I always considered her a friend. I pray that God will comfort each of you during this time.
