Kathleen A. Moore

kathleen moore
Kathleen Ann Kohler was born to Jean McIlvain Kohler and Dale Kohler in Indianapolis, Indiana, on September 20, 1953. Her parents and brothers Dale and Robert moved to San Antonio in 1960 where Kathy became a true Texan. She attended Madison Elementary, Longfellow Junior High, and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. At Jeff she was a Lasso and a member of the MJR club. She loved the tradition and beauty of her school. Kathy married Robert Moore in 1979 and moved to Canyon Lake where Kathy enjoyed nature and rescuing animals. After 15 years of marriage and wishing for children their “miracle” child Emily Jean was born. Kathy treasured her family; she loved being the big sister to her brothers and later loved her 2 nephews and 2 nieces like they were her own children. She was thrilled to able to spend time with her 3 grand nieces and was looking forward to the addition of her newest grand niece. Kathy was a nanny to several families. She loved her jobs and took the job of helping to parent the children in her care very seriously. Kathy enjoyed making memories. She loved to travel with her family and took several trips around the country. She especially enjoyed returning to Indiana and was able to go to the Indy 500 several times. She also loved theme parks, especially Disney World. She loved to take pictures, listen to music, watch musicals, and work on genealogy. Kathy felt tradition was very important. She was an excellent cook and always made the traditional family dishes at holidays. She loved to make Christmas cookies and an Easter bunny cake with her daughter, nephews, and nieces. Kathy endured a three month battle trying to recover from health complications and two brain surgeries, but passed away on April 4, 2019. Please join us at a graveside service to be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Hill Country Memorial Gardens. We will all celebrate the life of a lady who cared deeply and loved life. Kathy had a strong compassion for people and pets. To that end, instead of flowers, a donation to the Crisis Center of Comal County or the Canyon Lake Animal Shelter Society would be appreciated.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Kathy was my friend since elementary, middle, and high school. She lived down the street from on Texas. I lived at the corner of Waverly and Texas. We spent the night at each other’s houses. She was a wonderful, kind, happy, person. Never said anything mean or negative about anyone. I will truly miss her, even though we had not talked in years, I would think about her often. I knew she lived at Canyon Lake and was not far away. I pray that you are with you family in heaven. Nancy Reyes Cardenas

  2. Cathy was always such a sweetheart and was one of a few who laughed at my impressions. I think because ahed see how others were embarrassed for me. May she Rest In Peace with our Lord.

  3. We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Our condolences to Bob, Emily and family. We are sending our thoughts of comfort and praying that the many memories you hold dear in your heart will help you through this difficult time. It is those memories and your love that will always keep her spirit alive. May Kathleen rest in peace and may your heart heal and your soul strengthen,
    Sincerely,
