Louis E. Valadez, Jr., 72, of New Braunfels, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at his home. Born on January 24, 1945 in San Antonio, he was the son of the late Louis G. Valadez, Sr. and Francisca Esquivel Valadez. Louis is survived by his wife, Guadalupe M. Valadez; and children, Leticia V. Sanchez (Michael), Jose Valadez (Lucia), Rebecca Valadez (Mel), Mario Valadez (Monica), Samuel Valadez, Lupita Gonzalez (John) and Louisa Lytle (Brandon). Also surviving are 13 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; brother, Rodolfo Valadez; 5 half-brothers; 2 half-sisters; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Louis is preceded in death by his son, Louis Valadez, III; and daughter Judith Mendoza. A viewing will be held at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 from 5:00-9:00 p.m. with the Holy Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Viewing will continue on Thursday, February 23, 2017 from 9:00-9:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church with the Mass to begin at 9:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. The family is requesting that no flowers be sent. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
