Marie Seeburger Kuehm

Marie Louise (Rusty) Seeburger-Kuehm, 93, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2011 at Eden Hill in New Braunfels. Born in Mt. Savage, Maryland, she was the oldest child of Dr. Alexander Mileau Jr. and Louise May Reynolds. She was raised as an Army brat and as such lived in various places in the States and overseas, including the Philippine Islands. Her daddy retired from the Army and settled in San Antonio in 1934. Rusty graduated from Incarnate Word College in May 1940 and in June 1940 she married Army Air Corp Capt. Francis F. Seeburger IV, of Denver, CO. (Deceased in 1978). They were transferred to Hickam Field, Hawaii and were there during the bombing of Pearl Harbor. After the war her family lived various places including Atlanta, Georgia, Playa del Ray, California, and for 20 years in Mexico City, Mexico. In 1975 she returned permanently to San Antonio and became a teacher in the San Antonio Independent School District. In February 1980 she married Richard B. Kuehm of Corpus Christi, Texas (deceased November 1980). Rusty is survived by her son and daughter-in-law James and Jaynne Seeburger and grandson David of New Braunfels, Texas; her younger sister Janet and husband Earl Tindell of Hot Springs, Arkansas and their son Michael; and her youngest sister Joan Jacob of Arlington, Texas and daughter Janet Lynn Sansing. As a memorial to Rusty, the family requests that donations be made to the giver's favorite charity in her name. The family wishes to express our deepest thanks to CIMA Hospice and the Eden Hill Community for the care they provided Rusty in her final days.

Dear Jim, Jayne, and David, Our heartfelt condolences to your family on the passing of your loved one. Marie seemed to be a wonderful person who was blessed with a long, and at times difficult, life. We are sorry that we were not able to meet her in person. We know you are grateful for the special time you had with her at the end of her earthly life. Praise God that Marie is now with her Lord, and ours, in Heaven! My mother, also named Marie and also 93 years old, is very close to going Home as well. We thank God that we were able to be with her often during our Seattle visit last month. She is so ready to enter Eternal Life! My deepest condolences to the family. Rusty was a great friend of mine. We shared laughs and joys whenever we met. I can not recall how long ago or where we met but we became friends. She as very compasionate and giving. She shared with me her experiences when Pearl Harbor was bombed. She was a regular at a VFW post. I realize all good things come to an end and I do pray to our Lord that she be given the eternal peace and transquility she greatfully earned and deserves.
My condolences to Rusty’s family on the loss of your mother. I met her at VFW Post 1533 and she was quite a lady. She sat very quietly at the Post and acknowledged everyone that said hi to her which was everyone. She was very supportive of our post and will be missed. We lost a great American.
