Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. I am stunned and deeply saddened by the news of your passing, dear Matt! I will miss you coming in to see me and update me on what’s going on in your life – I loved your enthusiasm and hopeful excitement. I am sure there is a good reason God called you home, but it may take some of us a while to adjust to your absence. Rest in peace dear friend. You will be missed.

  2. You may never know me, but my name is Elaine DeGroot, and while in San Marcos, Dec.16, I hosted a graduation party for my granddaughter, Audrey.

Your son, Matt, attended and gave me one of the most fun evenings I have experienced in my seasoned lifetime. Your handsome young man danced with me (and I am no spring chicken), we laughed, Matt’s cheerful presence made the evening more enjoyable for everyone, and I thought you might want to know of that evening.

We parents do not intend to outlive our children … your pain and loss has been heavy on my heart and I have prayed for you many times. Please accept my sincerest condolences for your untimely loss.

Mrs. Elaine DeGroot, grandmother to Audrey

    • Mrs. Elaine, thank you for sharing your wonderful memory of Matt with us. Matt’s dance moves were always something else and you were a lucky woman to have enjoyed them. I like to think that Matt is dancing in Heaven with our sweet momma and Jesus. We greatly appreciate your prayers for our family. Again, thank you for sharing this memory of Matt with us, it touches my heart to hear of the joy he brought to others.

  3. You don’t know who I am, but I knew Matt for a short while. I had found out what happened a short while after we were taking, and I’m so sorry. I’m here now to say that I saw someone that looked almost exactly like him, and it made me pretty emotional. Though the time I had with him was short, I’ll never forget him and how he made me laugh, and how we’d talk about random dumb things. Rest in peace Matt. And a healthy, long, loving life to all of you.
