Maybell Joyce Koenig, 88, of New Braunfels, passed away on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Eden Home in New Braunfels. Born on October 18, 1929 in Marion, TX, she was the daughter of the late Herberd and Meta Reinhard. In addition to her parents, Maybell was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Koenig. Maybell is survived by her sons, Roger Charles Koenig and his wife, Angelique ,and their son Zachary Charles Koenig; and Ricky Ray Koenig, and his daughter Stevie. She was known as the German dress queen of Wurstfest and her passion was sewing.
A memorial service will be held at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m.

May was the sweetest person and I have such fond memories of her. She sewed some western apparel for me many years ago. I always thought it was better quality than store purchased if May made it! I will surly miss her. My prayers are with all of you for your loss. Cindy Braune

May babysat our two kids, back in the day. One time my daughter locked herself in our bathroom accidentally. May kept her cool, didn’t panic and lifted our son into the bathroom window. All was well after that, but we all got a kick out of that incident & would laugh about it for many years. She also made our daughter a darling German dress,which she enjoyed wearing for KinderDance performances for several years. May was a wonderful, caring & giving woman. In her memory we have made a donation to the NB Food Bank in her name to pay it forward to others. She was so kind , had a great optimistic spirit & fun-loving! Blessings, the Walskes
