  2. Our condolences to the family of Melvin, one of the great people of our community. He was always kindly helpful any time his services were needed. He will be missed. We need more people like him!
    –Ken & Brenda Armke

  3. Melvin was the kindest, most patient man…a lovely man. Melvin received the Herald Zeitung unsung heroes award a few years ago….he deserved to be a Living Legend. His commitment to his family and his work was huge. In his younger years he gave back to the community generously. He always had a smile and tons of good advice…a very loving man. We adored him. I know he will be hugely missed at his office and by his remaining family. Jerry and Nancy Ford

  4. Melvin and I served on the Board of McKenna Hospital. He was honorable, astute, and a friend. George Burke

  5. My condolences to the Jochec families. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of dear Melvin. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: “Your dead ones will live…They will rise up”. And the Bible also says “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it”. Therefore we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”. This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ’s ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you.

  6. Jayne, I always enjoyed visiting with your Dad when I came by your office. I knew which radio station would be on behind his desk, and I agree with his choice. He would always share some advice with me that was much appreciated. We would discuss his garden at times. I realized how much he loved gardening. I didn’t know about how much he liked chocolate, but every time I eat chocolate now , I think of him and smile. I will miss him but it can’t compare to how much you will miss him. Love you.
