Michael Robert Denton

michael denton
Michael Robert Denton passed away on January 25, 2022 in San Marcus, Texas at the age of 72. He was born in Canton, Ohio on July 30, 1949. After moving to Texas at a young age, he lived in Houston until his graduation from San Jacinto high school in May, 1969. Mike then enlisted in the USAF in August of the same year. He served his country proudly in locations in Southeast Asia until receiving an honorable discharge in August, 1975. Mike earned a master’s electrician license and worked on many interesting contracts, some close to home as Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, some taking him to many states and even foreign countries like Dubai installing magnificent fountains. It was a special time in his career of which he was extremely proud. Mike was a fun-loving guy and a friend to all. As the saying goes, he never met a stranger. He enjoyed music, radio and entertaining, even acting in summer stock theater in his youth. In his later years he loved having breakfast, drinking coffee and talking with good friends in New Braunfels. He also liked gardening and cooking fresh vegetables from the garden that he and Terri tended and took great pride in. Mike also loved their two dogs Blue and Grace. Mike and Terri owned their store THE WATERTREE and could be found there daily to lend a hand or just talk awhile, his favorite past time. Mike had a great sense of humor and his friendship and love will be missed by many. Mike was preceded in death by parents Jane Osmundsen Ketler and Robert E Denton, and his daughter Krys. Mike is survived by his life partner Terri Germany, her children Meghann Mercury and Ryan Neel, sister Colleen Foster and husband Pete and their kids Kelly Kelly, Lori Freese and Johnny McDuff, an uncle Robert Osmundsen and cousins Shelley Wilson, Kathi Skinner and Susan Allain. A family graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery on Friday, February 25, 2022 at 1:15 PM in San Antonio.
