Born on October 21, 1928 in Clinton, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of the late Othie Burk and Elizabeth McDowell Burk. Jody lived at Canyon Lake and worked at Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio for many years. She predominantly worked as a computer programmer during most of that time. Jody spent her retirement looking after and enjoying time with her grandchildren and family, who were her greatest joy in life. She will be remembered as a strong, smart woman, and a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, Jody was preceded in death by her oldest son, Richard Hamilton, sister Betty Bouse, and brother Richard Burk. She is survived by her husband, Charles May; her children, Jean Hamilton, John Hamilton and his wife Gloria, Tom Hamilton and his wife Tracy, and Sheri Vital; grandchildren, Eric and Shauna Myers, Brent Hamilton, Stephanie and Melissa Hamilton, and Nikolas, Leilani and JJ Vital. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jody's name to Hope Hospice, 611 N. Walnut Ave., New Braunfels, TX 78130

  1. It was my pleasure caring for you Mrs. May. I will never forget you. I am blessed to have met you, and find comfort knowing you are in Heaven above and free of pain and distress. My prayers are with your family as they learn to live without your presence,

  2. I was blessed to be able to spend a few short months with Jody. She was an amazing woman with an incredible memory and oh so many stories to share. I found her stories and experiences fascinating and couldn’t wait to visit each week. I pray for peace for her family as they mourn her loss, but know there is comfort in the legacy of her keen intelligence and her unforgettable memories.
