Ronald A. Dietel

ronald dietel
Ronald August Dietel, 68, passed away on March 21, 2018, at his home in New Braunfels, Texas. He was born in San Antonio, Texas on Sept 20, 1949 to Herbert Sr. and Carol Dietel. Ronnie, as we know him, was preceded in death by his mother and father and his brother Herbert Dietel Jr. Ronnie is survived by his wife Hazel Dietel of New Braunfels, son Randy Dietel of New Braunfels, daughter Deborah Bulanek and husband Timothy of New Braunfels and daughter Lauren Dietel of San Antonio; grandchildren: Savannah Bulanek, Jacey Bulanek and Aurora Crews; sister Lois Robinson and husband James of Houston; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. After graduating from New Braunfels High School, Ronnie started his career at the Pearl Beer Distributing Co, in New Braunfels, the family business owned by his father Herbert Sr. and then his brother Herbert Jr. and mother Carol. While serving in the US Air Force and stationed in Clovis, New Mexico, the business was sold. Ronnie remained in sales as he excelled in this field, always loving to talk to and be around people. Through the years he lived in various Texas cities including Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Lufkin, Plano and Universal City. He worked for Canteen Food and Vending, Owens Sausage (where he received Salesman of Year awards), Mertz Sausage, and Holmes Smokehouse. Eventually, Ronnie moved back to his beloved New Braunfels to his childhood home on Common St. He was a full-blooded German who was very proud of his German heritage. He supported it 100% with his love for beer, sausage, music and the gift to gab with the local townsfolk. It seemed like he knew everyone. Ronnie spent many hours in the local library and the Sophienburg Museum researching his German heritage and roots. Ronnie was fascinated with trains, whether it was riding on them, collecting model trains or attending train shows. Another favorite interest for Ronnie was his love of baseball, in particular, the Chicago Cubs. He attended many games at Wrigley Field in Chicago and finally got to see them win the World Series. He was also a dedicated New Braunfels Unicorns Fan. ‘Believe It!’ He was born and raised a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was confirmed and later married. When Ronnie moved to San Antonio he became a member of Beitel Memorial Lutheran Church where he served on the council and participated in the involvement of other church activities. Visitation will be at Lux Funeral Home on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Funeral services will take place at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Monday, March 26, 2018, with a short viewing beginning at 10:00 am and services at 11:00 am. Reception immediately following. 3. Our hearts are heavy with Ronnie’s passing. He could be friends with anyone. Ronnie strove for the best in all he did, from sales to cheering on his interests, which included everything from sports teams to church events. We will always fondly remember the times we spent with Ronnie in the beer business. Auf wiedersehen, Ronnie!

  4. I remember how we all use to get together when I was younger because our birthdays were so close. It was always a big bbq….as we all get older, it drifted away..
Love you Ronnie….you always believed in me and made me feel proud…. I will never forget you!

  5. My condolences to the Dietel families. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of dear Ronnie. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: “Your dead ones will live…They will rise up”. And the Bible also says “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it”. Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”. This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ’s ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope that these scriptures will be of some comfort to you.
