  1. My condolences to the Hawkins families. I’m sorry to hear about the loss of dear Ronel. Some Bible scriptures that have helped me during times of loss include Isaiah 26,:19 and Psalm 37:28,29 which states in part: “Your dead ones will live…They will rise up”. And the Bible also says “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will forever reside upon it”. Therefore the Bible promises that we may be reunited with our loved ones lost in death by means of an earthly resurrection. This is further confirmed by John 5:28,29 which says “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out”. This is possible thanks to Jesus Christ’s ransom sacrifice. Thus we have a genuine hope of everlasting life in a world without wickedness or suffering. I hope these scriptures will be of some comfort to you.

  4. Dad was so strong in the last months and years of his life. Enduring a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s that took away what he cherished most. He loved his family and friends so much and we gave him the very best love and care we knew how. Hugs and words were treasures to share with a man who raised three strong children with 4 grandchildren and 2 young great grandchildren. He had dreamed of the day they would grow to adults and someday marry. The loving man I knew as father was the greatest husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to everyone we call family. He was known as Topgun to some he found to support him in Kirkwood manor. A mischievous smile from him always conveyed so much, His strength endured while his illness attacked an industrious and creative mind. As his youngest daughter I was inspired by his unwavering love and his unmatched will to provide and create a home for his family. I see him everywhere around me, dad never stood still for long. He was the engineer, mechanic, and creator of our home and hearts. He worked hard and loved well. I only pray he will go on watching over us all from heaven, reunited with all family an friends. He no longer suffers, and is no longer in pain. Ron Hawkins is at peace. I feel he now knows our hearts, feelings and a divine love that goes beyond any earthly realm. I am reminded on this snowy night that my dear father may just be bringing us a little joy even when it hurts to say goodbye. A touch of wonder from his childhood in the mountains of Tennessee. Thank you for being my dad. I will forever feel you are in my life and look forward to the future day in heaven we will know everlasting peace and love. God Bless everyone.

  5. To aunt Janice, and the family, Alice and I wish you the most comfort possible in the passing of uncle Ronel.

My best memories of Ronel were when he was a young man, and I was a small boy.

He was in uniform, in service to our country, handsome, friendly and entertaining to me, and very much loved by my mother.

In your time of sorrow, you have much of which to be proud…a servant of God and country, a great husband and father. and loved member of the Hawkins family! Larry Hogg

  6. To a handsome, shy and loving uncle, who married a beautiful lady named Janice! My mom , Agnes, loved both of you and your beautiful family . I am so proud of your service to our country, your patriotism, as well as your accomplishments in life with a beautiful family. You are missed… Brenda Hogg Walker

  7. This picture of these 3 boys (they will always be boys to me, because they were to mom) is one I printed out for mom. It sits in her room at assisted living and I sometimes hand it to her and talk of her brothers. She will remain unaware that they have all passed on, because to tell her would make her so sad. We grieve their loss. My deepest sympathy to Janice and family, with love. Susan

Today my heart is heavy because of the sadness from the passing of my kind, sweet, and precious Uncle Ronel, but it is rejoicing knowing that he is now at peace and with his loving family that have gone on to a better place. My dear mother, Navoy, loved him so much and his wonderful family, Aunt Janice, Michelle, Natalie, and Scott. I can remember the long telephone calls she had with Uncle Ronel so that they could keep in touch with each other‘s lives. Thank you so much for your honorable service to our country, and for being a wonderful husband and father. My thoughts and prayers are with the family
