Ross Compton, Jr.

ross compton, jr.
GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN Ross H. Compton Jr., 64, was given his final orders to be with our Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, August 18, 2020. After several years of battling through failing health, he died peacefully within his home in New Braunfels, TX. Ross was born on February 7, 1956 in Sinton, TX to Ross H. Compton Sr. of Sour Lake, TX and Faye H. Hoy of Crowley, LA. As a boy he grew up primarily in Pleasanton, Winnie and Harleton, TX where he graduated from Harleton High School in 1974. After he graduated, he enlisted in the United States Army to serve his beloved country, where he served from January 16, 1975 – January 6, 1978 in the 11th Armored Calvary Regiment. It is written that, “most knowledgeable leaders and soldiers alike, consider the 11th Armory Cavalry Regiment the best-trained mechanized force in the world. Continuing in the NTC tradition of Lead, Train, Win, the Blackhorse stands ready to respond to any mission to which it may be called.” Ross was accomplished in the HVAC community for over 40 years, from consulting for other business owners to owning his own successful company, COMPTON, LLC. His knowledge in the field was highly respected by the industry and he would also appear on the morning show, San Antonio Living, several times throughout the years between 2007 – 2010 to share his knowledge and to help educate the public. On June 24, 2011, he received a Thank You Letter, from a single mother who “had been burned by various companies”. Just minutes after watching SA Living and seeing Ross on the show, she called to have her AC serviced. She was so pleased with the quick response and professionalism she had received and said “COMPTON, LLC. Is a keeper! You will be the only ones I call from now on!” Ross was a man that loved with all his heart and would do anything for his family. When the Lord had called for him, he was not in the hospital or in pain, he was surrounded by so much love and happiness. He was having a wonderful day at home with his soulmate and wife. He was excited that 2 of his youngest grandchildren had learned to make, and eat, snow cones from the gift he had delivered to them a couple days prior. He was a true hero, not just because he served our great country but because of how much he loved and took care of us all. He believed in working hard and living a good life, passing down his knowledge to his children and grandchildren, picking us up if we fell. He was also always ready and willing to provide us with advice to reach our goals and to become the best person we could be in life. Ross was preceded in death by his Grandfather William Erwin Compton, Grandmother Anna Laura (McBride) Irwin, Step-Grandfather Walter Lee Irwin Sr.; Great-Grandparents Frank and Lena McBride, 1 Aunt Edna Earl Ryan . He is survived by his beloved wife Patricia D. Juarez-Compton; 3 children Jeremie B. Compton, Stetson W. Compton, Montana R. Compton and 1 step-daughter Lisa Y. Sanchez; 5 grandchildren Wesley R. A. Compton, Ann Marie E. Compton, Kristen K. Compton, Tassie R. Compton and Orion R. Sanchez; 1 great-granddaughter Braylynn H. Compton. He also leaves behind a brother Wesley M. Compton and family; a sister Twila Shaffer and family. A service will be held on September 12, 2020 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Village Venue 2032 Central Plaza New Braunfels, TX 78130. We invite all family and friends to attend to help honor and celebrate the life of Ross H. Compton Jr. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate a donation in honor of Ross to the Wounded Warrior Project at https://communityfundraising.woundedwarriorproject.org/campaign/Ross-Compton-Memorial-Fund. The family would like to thank all of those who have reached out to give us support and who have kept us in your prayers.

  1. Ross was a great person to work with as I did in the late 90’s. Although he worked for me, he taught me a lot. He will truly be missed. Till we meet again my friend.
