Royce Rex Garland, 76, of New Braunfels, passed away on June 7, 2020 at his home. Born on August 5, 1943 in Iraan, Texas, he was the son of the late Carter Rex Garland and Jessie Irene McFall Garland. Royce is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cynthia B. Kraft Garland; daughter, Regina Garland Kessler of New Braunfels; son, Royce Garland, II and wife Paulina of San Antonio; stepsons, Robert Douglas and wife Liz of New Braunfels, and Kenneth Douglas and wife Tanya of Seguin; grandchildren, Chris, Troy, Scott and wife Andrea, Royce Rex, III, Brian, Mary and John; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Kensley; sister, Carlene and husband Paten; and brother, Leman "Buzz" and wife Theresa. Royce proudly served in the United States Air Force. He also worked for the Comal ISD , delivering supplies. Rex will be greatly missed by his family and friends. After his long illness with cancer we are grateful that Rex is now with our heavenly Father in peace and happiness. A memorial service will be held at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, June 19, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery on Peace Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Royce's name to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels. Due to COVID-19, the family prefers anyone attending the service to please wear a mask.

  1. Uncle Rex was always so thoughtful and calm, and we remember that he was always holding his puppy. He was such a good man. We loved visiting him and seeing him at Christmas. He will be missed. May God comfort you Aunt Cindy and the rest of your family during this time. Uncle Rex is Home, watching over you. All our love, Don, Joanna, & the girls.
