Thomas Ortiz, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away early Thursday morning, November 12, 2020 at his home at the age of 85. Thomas born was born on March 7, 1935 in Mexico to the late Candelario R. Ortiz and Maria De Jesus Pineda Ortiz. For many years, Thomas was employed as a painter for Symons in New Braunfels. He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Katalina L. Ortiz, who passed away on May 30, 2014, and by a brother, Isabel Ortiz. Survivors include his son, Juan C. Ortiz; sisters, Carmen P. Paradez and Maria Agustina Ortiz and by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 16, 2020 at Holy Family Catholic Church. Those wishing to attend the Funeral Mass are asked to meet at the church at 9:50 AM on Monday morning. Interment will follow at Santo Tomas Cemetery, where Mr. Ortiz will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife.
