Warren W. Wilkerson

Warren W. Wilkerson, 65, of New Braunfels, TX, passed away on Monday, July 6, 2020. Born on January 23, 1955 in Muncie, Indiana, he was the son of the late Charles Wilkerson and Mary Saboff Wilkerson.
Warren is survived by his wife, Judy Wilkerson; step-children, Paul Field, Mike Field, and Jenny Virt; grandchildren, Grace Field, and Raelyn and Evynlee Virt; Brother, Chip Wilkerson and wife Ann; sister, Marlene Main-Harrick; brother-in-law, Michael Rogers; and step-mother, Ann Wilkerson.
In addition to his parents, Warren was also preceded in death by his sister, Darlena Wilkerson and brother Danny Wilkerson.
After graduating from North Central High School in 1973, Warren attended Indiana University where he studied business. He then, on his own, gained the knowledge necessary for his career in the computer software industry. He worked proudly for 30 years for Computer Associates. Warren had a love for travel, especially going on trips with his wife Judy in their motor home. He had many hobbies, including being an avid scuba diver and underwater photographer. He had a passion for his Harley Davidson Motorcycle, having a vast collection of Harley Davidson T-shirts, and was known for wearing them often.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at the Lux Funeral Home Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with a gathering to take place after at the family home. There will be a zoom setup to livestream the service.

I remember such fun times with my brother Warren while growing up. I’ll always remember his Warm Smile, Happy Disposition and Happy Generous Heart. My Twin Darlena & I were adopted at age 4. When our parents brought us home too meet Chip, Dan & Warren they were everything a Big Brother should be. Loving, caring, protective, thrilled too have us in their Life. Warren said to Mom and Dad, they’re so much fun, Can we Keep them as if we were a play toy! He always had the knack of making us laugh and smile. We knew from that moment, we were truly Blessed and finally in a very Loving home, with the right family. Their Loving embrace changed our Lives for the better, Forever. Warren was always one of my favorite people at CA. Always a smile, made everyone feel better when he was around. Truly will miss the smile and laughter. God Bless all that knew him and now is he looking down on us all and smiling again.

My wife and I met Warren while attending Indiana University amd were close friends during both my undergraduate and graduate years but went seperate paths after leaving IU Bloomington. Just last week his memory came to me and I decided to try and track him down and reach out to reconnect!!! I guess we have reconnected but not in the way I had hoped….but grateful that he reached out in his way to let me know….Marissa and I send you our love and love to your family….you are un our hearts forever…..Kim
Warren was always a calm “voice of reason” at work. He was intelligent, practical, a great colleague and friend. I fondly remember when he and Judy came to Nashville to visit in their wonderful motorhome, just wish we had more time together. He is missed.
My name is Kim Manlove and I was a friend of Warren’s during his time at Indiana University. We lost communication after graduation and just yesterday for some reason I thought of him and wanted to reach out but unfortunately discovered after all these years he had passed recently. Please accept my condolements. He was a special friend at a special time as we were just figuring out what we wanted to do in life and I will regret not reaching out sooner but grateful that our paths crossed for a time in our youth when the sky was the limit. Sorry to hear of Warren’s passing. I worked with Warren for many years when my former company, Sabre Inc., had a 10 year software contract with Computer Associates. Warren was always very professional and he had a very well developed sense of humor. RIP Warren. John Sullivan – Bedford TX.
I went to grade school, middle school and high school with Warren and he was always such a kind and thoughtful (and mischievous!) guy. I remember in third or fourth grade he showed me the trick where you take Elmer’s glue and dry it on your hand and pretend to pull of your skin. I of course was horrified but he quickly assured me in such a kind way that it was just a trick and showed me how to do it! He also was the first (and last!) person to give me a ride on one of his motorcycles in high school. We lost touch at IU but I have thought of him through the years and always wanted to thank him for his kindness. Sorry I couldn’t tell him myself and very sorry for your loss of such a special individual. Alan Nemes
