William Mickey Agee passed away on January 11, 2020. He suffered from multiple health issues. Mickey passed peacefully at his home in New Braunfels, overlooking the Texas Hill Country. Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, on September 15, 1941, he lived for an incredible 78 years. Mickey was revered for his wonderful stories and his gregarious and unique fun nature. He was greatly loved and respected by his family, friends, and business associates. Always ahead of his time, Mickey had a long career in contract office furniture manufacturing and design. He conceptualized, patented, and spearheaded the commercialization for many of the current concepts in height-adjustable tables for the workplace. He was also vital in promoting ergonomics as a common practice in the office environment. Another significant achievement was the redesign, manufacture, and implementation of POS furniture for the entire USPS. Mickey was particularly adept at developing strategic alliances with major corporations domestically and internationally. Many of his furniture designs for major corporations, US Government, GSA, and the military are still benchmarks today. Mickey had another career in motor-sports. A fierce passion for driving sports cars in the 1960s ultimately led him to compete in the SCCA Trans Am and IMSA GT Series in the 1970s. By the age of 69 in 2010, he was still a skilled driver and team owner in the SCCA Trans-Am series. Mickey also had many other interests. Anything Mickey attempted, was approached as if it were a career. Ownership of a top-rated comedy club, The Punch Line, where he witnessed the early careers of some of today's cherished comedians. He was a fantastic lifetime golfer, hunter, and skilled marksman. Hunting adventures took him to all areas of the Continental US , Canada, Argentina, Mexico, and big game hunts in Africa. Golf led him to play the most beautiful and esteemed courses in the world. Mickey was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Mickey is survived by his wife, Marilyn J Agee, and children, Mike (Ruth) Agee, Kelly (Phillip) Gold, Liz Agee, Jenny (Dave) Agee-Aldridge, and five (5) grandchildren. Mickey Agee will be greatly missed by all. Please feel free to donate to the charity of your choice.
