Charley Ray Day, Sr.

charley day, sr.
Charley Ray Day, Sr. entered this life on March 25, 1930 in Nancy, Texas. He departed this world to be with the LORD on January 29, 2017 at the age of 86 in La Porte, Texas. He is survived by his precious wife of 65 years, Sally Marie Day, his 4 sons, 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was an Air Force veteran, worked as a truck driver, shipyard worker, in the chemical industry and as a bi-vocational minister of music for many years. In 1982, he retired from ARCO Chemicals as an Operational Superintendent and surrendered his life to full time Christian service. Over his many years he touched countless lives through evangelism, music, teaching, preaching and living a spirit-filled life. The family would like to express our thanks to the many friends and family who have prayed and been there for us during these difficult times.

  3. Charley Day was my favorite uncle. I spent a lot of time with him, Aunt Sallie and my cousinss while growing up in Southeast Texas. Whether he knew it or not, he taught me a lot about what it meant to be a father and what I consider a “real man.” When I suffered the deepest sorrow in my life several years ago, he was the first person I wanted to talk to. He had a special way of brining comfort to me. I will miss him very much. Aunt Sallie, Charley Jr,, Tim, Craig and Brian…you are all in my thoughts. Love you.

  4. LT, I’m so sorry for your loss. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. John 14:1
