The Lux Difference: Family-Owned Care in New Braunfels

Lux Funeral Home & Cremation Services is an independent, family-owned funeral home and on-site crematory in New Braunfels, Texas. Founder and President David Kenny Lux, a licensed funeral director and embalmer, entered the funeral profession in 1994, and today the firm is run by its own licensed funeral directors rather than a national corporation. That independence is the heart of the Lux promise, “Our family caring for yours,” and it shapes everything from how arrangements are made to who answers the phone at two in the morning. To talk with the family behind the care, call (830) 624-0500.

Independent and family-owned, by design

Lux Funeral Home is not owned by a national funeral corporation. Families work directly with the licensed funeral directors who own and operate the firm, which means decisions are made locally and personally. Lux also owns and operates its own crematory in Seguin, so cremation is overseen by the same team a family already knows and trusts.

A combined century of experience, in English and Spanish

The Lux team carries a combined 100-plus years of funeral service experience and is bilingual in English and Spanish, so families across Comal and Guadalupe counties can make arrangements in the language they are most comfortable with. You can meet our licensed staff and read what families are saying about their experience.

Our campus in New Braunfels

The Lux property is built around two Spanish Mediterranean buildings: an administration and visitation building of more than 3,600 square feet completed in 2015, and a funeral chapel of about 3,000 square feet that seats 180 guests completed in 2017. Having both visitation and chapel space on one campus means families can gather, hold services, and say goodbye without coordinating multiple venues.

What does "our family caring for yours" actually mean?

It means personal, customizable services rather than fixed packages; direct access to a licensed funeral director at any hour; a documented identification process for cremation; and honest guidance about options and pricing. The goal is for every family to feel cared for the way the Lux family would want their own loved ones cared for.
