Resided in: Bulverde, Texas

Judith (Judy) Ann Graham received her heavenly wings on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at the age of 83 after a lengthy battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Her last moments were spent peacefully in her family’s home in Bulverde, Texas.

Judy was born on September 24, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter to the late John and Melba (Kirkpatrick) Marincel. She graduated from Bishop DuBourg High School, class of 1958, and studied Paralegal Studies/Law from St. Louis Community College – Meramec in St. Louis, Missouri.

Judy is survived by her two daughters, Heather Graham-Thompson, and Holly (Steve) Pickerin. Known as beloved “Grandma Judy” to her 5 grandchildren; Sarah (Zachary) Murphy, Stephen (Danielle) Pickerin, Haylie (Mason) Murrell, Blake Thompson, and Joshua (Tatiana) Pickerin, and “GG” to her 10 great-grandchildren; Rose, Roman, Emery, Henry, Rosemary, Lyra, and Juniper, and the late William, Madeline, and BB3. She is also survived by her two sisters, Sue (Arlie) Schnarre and Pat (Tom) Rung, and one brother, Jack (Mary Ann) Marincel, and many nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her beloved dog, Galaxy, and her companion puppies, SHEDZ, CarrieAnna, and Bell’angelo.

Judy spent over 30 years as a Legal Receptionist. She retired from Husch Blackwell Sanders Law Firm in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 74. During the last five years working at the law firm, Judy also worked part-time as an office assistant at Kelly Wicks State Farm Insurance Agency. She was well known for her gregarious personality, bright smile, contagious laugh, and giving heart. Judy celebrated life with childlike wonder drawing others in to share in her enthusiasm. She had a way of making others feel special whether it was with her thoughtful gift giving, organizing care packages for deployed Soldiers, or time spent with loved ones. Her family lovingly referred to her as their “sunshine;” thus, fueling her fondness for sunflowers which she grew and nurtured in her backyard. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting in her screened-in porch enjoying nature. Her hospitality was unmatched, and she was the happiest when she was doting on family and friends. You would often find her in the kitchen cooking for
others, which led her to her love of sweets. Judy was well known for her sweet tooth for sodas, donuts, cakes, chocolate, or anything sweet. She enjoyed the “buzz” and excitement of the casino life and went monthly in retirement. Judy had a knack for crafting, a talent for jewelry making, the wit for poetry writing, a gift for entertaining, and a flare for fashion. Due to her flare for fashion, she sought out a part-time position in
retirement at TJ Maxx, where she was always dressed to the nines and surrounded by people and things that re-energized her.

Judy’s vibrance was equal to her strong will. She had a valiant fight with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and near the end of her life, she received such compassionate in-home care. The family would like to thank the entire Magnolia Hospice team from San Marcos, Texas for their tender care and support.

To know Judy was to love her. She had a heart of gold and will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and former colleagues. Judy’s greatest legacy was the love she had for her family. Judy’s family asks that she be remembered for the joy she brought to others and not the sadness of her passing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) Memorial Gifts at https://secure.aspca.org/donate/ps-memory-sl-p1. Please use one of the Recipient’s Email: hgrahamthompson@yahoo.com or pickerin_graham@hotmail.com and one of the Recipient’s Name: Heather Graham-Thompson or Holly Pickerin.

A celebration of life will be held on September 11, 2024.
