Gabriel Gonzales, 40, passed away on the afternoon of Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at Christus Santa Rosa Hospital. Born on August 23, 1984, in New Braunfels to David Aleman and Yvonne Gonzales, Gabriel’s life revolved around his children and family. Though he never had much, he always gave freely, offering whatever he had to those in need, whether it was a listening ear, a comforting presence, or a helping hand. He poured the best parts of himself into his children, Gavin and Karlie, and took great pride in being a devoted Father and Uncle. Gabriel cherished time spent with family and built lifelong friendships everywhere he went. He found joy in life’s simple pleasures—listening to music, barbecuing, playing cards, dancing, hitting the road for spontaneous trips and his most favorite thing in the world was fishing with Gavin and Karlie. His warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on many and knowing him meant loving him. Gabriel’s sense of humor, generosity, and unwavering love made him the wild, funny uncle, brother and friend who would drive everyone crazy, but he always knew how deeply we loved him. His memory will live on through his children, Gavin and Karlie Gonzales, his beloved girlfriend Connie Muniz, His mother, Yvonne Gonzales. He is also survived by his brothers, Juan Herrera Jr. and his wife Valerie, Gary Gonzales and his wife Angela, and his sister Jennifer Herrera. His legacy continues through his cherished nieces and nephews: Simon, Juliana, and Izaiah Herrera, Ray and Carlos Vega, along with Zayden, Jayvn, Zadrien, and Zavarie Gonzales. Gabriel was preceded in death by his father, David Aleman; grandmother, Yolanda Sauceda; great-grandparents, Mathilde and Pepa Herrera; and his uncles, Juan Herrera Sr. and Gilbert “Bruno” Gonzales Jr. To honor his life, visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Lux Funeral Home Chapel, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6:00 PM. Gabriel will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
A celebration of life in honor of Gabriel will take place after the memorial service at Kings and Queens, located at 442 Stolte Rd., New Braunfels, TX 78130. This gathering will be a time to share memories, offer support, and reflect on the love and joy he brought to those around him. His spirit will be felt through the stories, laughter, and togetherness of family and friends.
