Nancy Sue (Grimm) Dwight, a resident of Canyon Lake, Texas went to our Lord early Sunday morning, June 1, 2025 peacefully, at home, surrounded by her family at the age of 97.
Nancy was born on August 18,1927 in Princeton, West Virginia to Tyler Ray Grimm and Dorothy Mildred Humphreys Grimm.
Nancy grew up in Athens, West Virginia and attended Concord College in that community. She married Robert E. Dwight on June 12, 1946 at the Methodist Church of which she was a lifetime member. Nancy became a Homemaker, Mother and Chicken Farmer in Beckley, West Virginia until 1958 when she and her family moved to Samnorwood, Texas. In Texas she became an educator, all levels Science teacher, which she lovingly labored at until retirement. Nancy taught in schools at Samnorwood, Bartlett, Nixon, LaVernia, Floresville and Canyon Lake. After retirement she and Robert (Bob) formed a craft business, NABOBS, in which he did the woodwork and she did the art. They enjoyed the participation in craft sales in many areas of the United States and enjoyed traveling yearly to these locations.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tyler and Dorothy Grimm, her brother, Calvin Walter Grimm, and his wife, Marion, her sister Dorothy Rae and husband Elmer Thomas, her brother in laws and wives Clyde and Louise Dwight, and David and Bobbie Dwight and their children (Clyde Dwight, Delores Barnett and Allen Dwight), as well as her beloved Bob, (Robert E. Dwight).
Survivors include her children, Sue Reed and husband Larry, Ruth Dwight and life mate Joey Horton, Robert Dwight and wife Dayna, grandchildren and bonus grandchildren, Florence (Liz) Thomas, Owen Harvey and wife Romina, Sayrah Craft and husband Chad, Tyler Dwight, Taylor Dwight and her fiancé Dillon Pawlosky, Tarah Dwight, Chaney Reed and wife Amber, Robert Reed and wife Jamie, Kendra Jimenez and Alex Fournier and husband Josh, 21 great grandchildren, her niece Barbara Moran, her nephew Stephen Thomas and wife Cheryl and many wonderful great-nieces and great-nephews.
There will not be a viewing as Nancy chose cremation. There will be a memorial service at a later date.
The ashes of Nancy and Bob and Fred (their companion Fox Terrier) will rest in Athens, West Virginia.
I am sorry to hear of your moms loss. She was a delightful woman to know. I lost Kathy on May 1, so it is a double heartbreak for me. Love you all in these hard times.
