It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gabriel Granado Sr., affectionately known as Big Gab, who departed this life on July 6, 2025, in Canyon Lake, Texas, at the age of 67. Born on November 24, 1957, in Haskell, Texas, Gabriel lived a life rich in love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those around him.

Gabriel’s journey began in Haskell, Texas, where he was born to Feliciano Granado and Dolores Fuentes Granado. He later attended Homestead Jr. High School in Homestead, Florida. For the majority of his working life, Gabriel dedicated himself to farmwork, a testament to his strong work ethic and commitment. Eventually, he found a more permanent role, serving as the lead warehouse man at Torrisie Farms, a position he held with pride and diligence.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Gabriel possessed a remarkable gift for connecting with others. He was a natural conversationalist, always eager to engage with those around him. His loving and caring nature had a transformative effect; it was impossible to remain sad or angry in his presence. Gabriel radiated an infectious positivity, effortlessly changing the atmosphere with his warm smile and genuine spirit.

Gabriel’s passions extended beyond his work. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly gardening, grilling, and fishing. He also shared a deep bond with his beloved dogs, who were undoubtedly recipients of his boundless affection.

The cornerstone of Gabriel’s life was his enduring love for his wife, Sandy Garcia Granado, with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
