Joseph W. Wilson

March 17, 1964 ~ July 17, 2025
Joseph Wayne Wilson, 61, passed away quietly on July 17, 2025. Joseph retired from the San Antonio Police Department after over 20 years of service. He also retired from University of Texas at San Antonio Police Department after 5 years of service.
He is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth Wilson and son Da’Jon Spencer, grand-daughter Laney Spencer, siblings Diallo Uhurru, Dale Johnson, and Monica Boiser. He also leaves behind an aunt and uncle, nieces, nephews, cousins, and additional extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence Wilson, mother, Lillie Mae Wilson Harris, Grand-parents George & Jimmie Manning, Aunts Elizabeth Boone, Bertha Campbell, and Uncles L E Manning, J. T. Manning, Raymond Manning and I. V. Manning.
Joseph had an infectious laugh that will continue to ring loudly in the hearts and minds of the people who knew him. As a police officer his servant heart allowed him to display his kind and generous nature.
He loved to fish and spend time working around the house, in the yard, and spending time with loved ones.
Services will be held on August 11, 2025 at 12:00pm at Community Bible Church (CBC) in the Education Building: Studio As, 2477 N Loop 1604 E, San Antonio, TX 78232. Doors will open at 11:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local animal shelter in honor of Joseph Wayne Wilson.

Joe, I miss you buddy. I respect you as a true patriot and a great human being.
Always had a great time fishing with Joe. He always had a smile, laughing and having a great time even if we didn’t catch fish for 8 hours on the water. I will miss my fishing partner very much.
Thank you Elizabeth for letting him go fishing with me.
