Lenora Duggar

Lenora Jean (“Polly”) Duggar, aged 91, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully at home on August 17, 2025.

Born in Georgia, Polly led a remarkable life marked by resilience and quiet strength. She broke barriers as the first female locomotive engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad, where she worked with dedication and pride for 23 years before retiring.

Polly’s life was rooted in faith, family, and generosity. A longtime member of Grace Church in New Braunfels, she found great joy in fellowship and service. Known for her warmth and hospitality, Polly lovingly shared the fruits of her pecan trees from her days living in Schertz, Texas – often transforming them into her famous homemade fruitcakes that brought joy to family and friends alike.

She is survived by her sister, Elisa Jones; her children Elisa Page (Thomas), David Duggar (Cathy), and Leon Duggar (Marcia); her six grandchildren: Sarah, Stuart, Brent, Brandon, Anna, and Rebecca; and four great-grandchildren: Chloe, Isaac, Landon, and Brady. Polly was preceded in death by her beloved daughter Cathy Duggar, her brother Joseph Russell Peacock, and two great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Jaxon Duggar.

Polly will be remembered for her trailblazing spirit, her generous heart, and the love she poured into her family and community.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
