Janice Elizabeth Elliott, 100 years old, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025. Janice was born on October 3, 1925 in Salem, Missouri, and grew up in Mansfield, Missouri. She was the only child of James and Lockie Crouch.
Janice was very close to, and loved her maternal Grandparents, whom she called Mama and Papa, as well as her Mother and Daddy. She had many wonderful stories of her childhood. Janice was a wonderful housewife for her husband and three children. She and her husband were married in 1946 after WWII, then moved to Norman, Oklahoma where her husband attended Oklahoma University, and graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. She was happy and very supportive of her husband with all of the moves to different states, when he was transferred for his job with Marathon Oil Company. She and her husband were happily married for nearly 64 years, until his death from dementia. She was very involved with the Petroleum Engineers wives group, and had many friends. She worked as a typist, enjoyed playing Bridge, loved to shop, loved getting her hair fixed every week at the salon, and was an excellent cook. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren very much. Janice was active in, and loved her church. She loved to knit, making dishcloth’s and giving them away to everyone. She loved talking to and hugging everyone, no one was a stranger to her.
Janice is preceded in death by her parents, James B. and Lockie Craig Crouch; her husband William H. Elliott, Jr.; many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Elizabeth Elliott, James William Elliott, and Sandra Lee Elliott Wiest; four grandchildren, Alison Elizabeth Wiest (Gluski), Adam Edward Wiest (Emma Wiest), Marie Alyse Elliott Gaffield (Andrew Gaffield), and Marissa Elizabeth Han (Daniel Han); ten great-grandchildren, twins Olivia Anne Gluski and Brionna Lee Gluski, Jaielie Rose Terrasas, Ary Blossom Terrasas, Audrey Josephine Gaffield, Lucas Andrew Gaffield, Reid Elliott Wiest, Everett Arthur Wiest, Aliya Belle Wiest, and Eli Edward Wiest. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be on Friday, October 24, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Lux Funeral Home, in New Braunfels, Texas.
Funeral Service will be on Thursday, October 30, 2025 at 10:30 AM at All Saints of Russia Orthodox Church in Denver, Colorado, followed with the burial at Littleton Cemetery, in Littleton, Colorado.
Donations can be made in Memory of Janice Elliott to the Alzheimer’s Foundation.
