Larry Dale Anderson, 79, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2025. He was born on June 25, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas, to Bailey Vernon Anderson and Juanita D. Bonham. Larry lived a life grounded in love and devotion for his family.

Larry graduated from South San Antonio High School in 1964. It was at South San Antonio High School that Larry met the love of his life, Glenda Kay Gillaspia. They met in Choir when Glenda was a freshman, and Larry was a sophomore; it was love at first sight for both. They were married two weeks after Glenda graduated from high school in 1965. Larry and Glenda’s love has never wavered, and they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on June 12, 2025.

Larry didn’t just find the “love of his life,” Glenda in Choir, he also found that he had a great love for music. He and his brother Bailey Anderson formed several bands over the years. The first of them being Bailey and The Jokers, which played at various high school events, including Larry’s high school senior prom. Another of their bands, the Bergs Mill Symphony, played events and shows all over Texas. Larry’s love of music took him on tours throughout the United States, where he played bass guitar and sang backup vocals for the likes of Stoney Edwards and other notable Country singers. One of Larry’s true talents was that of a modern-day troubadour. Larry had a way with words and wrote beautiful songs; some were recorded by various country artists and made it onto the radio. One song in particular, “She’ll Go Anywhere With You,” was recorded by his brother Bailey and in the mid-1970s made it to the top of the Texas Country Charts.

Larry was a devoted husband, dad, and grandfather. He was known for his gentle, sweet, and kind demeanor, his “roll with the flow” attitude, his over-the-top love for baseball, and his ever-present humor and quick wit. Friends and family recall his ability to deliver clever, spontaneous responses to just about
anything and on the spot. Larry loved his role as a dad to Jason and Jeff and absolutely cherished his role as a grandfather and great-grandfather to Justin, Jake, Delaney, Lauren, Jonah, and Julia.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda Anderson, along with their sons Jeffery Anderson, Jason Anderson, and wife Evelyn Anderson; grandchildren, Justin Anderson and wife Nitasha Anderson, Jake Anderson and wife Jenna Anderson, Delaney Anderson, Lauren Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jonah Anderson, and Julia Anderson. Larry is also survived by his brother, Lee Anderson and wife Bonnie, his sister, Nancy Fief, and sister-in-law Kathy Anderson, along with numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and of course his beloved dog Milo.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Bailey Vernon Anderson and Juanita D. Anderson; brothers, Bailey Anderson and Malcom Anderson.
