Emmie Lee Ikels

Emmie was born on February 24, 1938, in San Antonio, Texas to Lee and Ilse Eickenroht. She was a devoted mother who dedicated her life to raising her family whilst also being a small business owner. Emmie was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Ikels, and her sister Gloria Reinhard. She is survived by her partner, Ron Morris; her children, Pamela (Ikels) Walker, Kenan Ikels, and Mark Ikels; her grandchildren, Jack Ikels, Payton Ikels, Scout Ikels, and Neko Ikels; and her sisters, Alice Higgins and Mary Pilot.

Throughout her life, Emmie was an active community member who volunteered with the Rotary Club and was very involved with the Gay 40 club in New Braunfels. Her commitment to service and her generous spirit touched many lives in the community she loved.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Saturday December 20th at The Reel, located at 1683 West State Highway 46, New Braunfels, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Emmie’s memory by giving your time and support to the community, continuing the legacy of service that was so important to her.
