Elaine Lillian Dreyer, born August 4, 1942, in Chicago, Illinois, to Lillian (Gabriel) and Serafino Savaglio, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, in New Braunfels, Texas, under the attentive care of Bluebonnet Hospice.
Elaine is survived by her devoted sister, Linda Hainlen (husband Bob). She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald Savaglio (survived by wife Kathi), and sisters Bonnie Kellum and Carol Michaels as well as Donald Cork, Sr. (ex-husband), George Dreyer (ex-husband), and Ralph Bodemann (widowed).
Elaine attended Argo High School in Summit, IL and earned a Master’s Degrees in Social Work through University of Maryland. Throughout her life, Elaine was dedicated to helping others, using her education to support individuals with special health care needs until her retirement from Reaching Maximum Independence (RMI) in San Antonio. After retirement, she found fulfillment working with students at Aransas Pass High School.
Elaine will be lovingly remembered by her two sons, Adam Cork (wife Karen) and Donald Cork Jr. (wife Nancy Fleming; ex-wife Sheri Cork), and stepdaughter Lisa Bodeman (daughter of Ralph), her cherished grandchildren: Andrew Cork (wife Chelsy), Sarah Chinnery (husband Jacob), and Ben Cork (wife Lauren). She was also blessed with six great grandchildren.
As a proud Master Gardener, Elaine found great happiness in gardening and volunteering within the Aransas Pass community. She treasured her family above all, cherishing every moment spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Bluebonnet Hospice and Jacob’s House for the exceptional care Elaine received following her strokes earlier this year. If Elaine could write her own script for Heaven, she would be walking through Heaven amidst a pack of Irish setters through a garden filled with fragrant rose bushes and citrus trees and fondly remembering her family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Memorial Fund at Grace Church or a local animal shelter. Elaine’s legacy of love, service, and kindness will live on in the hearts of her family and all those she touched.
A celebration of Elaine’s life will be held on January 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Grace Church New Braunfels, where her son Adam serves as lead pastor.

Elaine was a soft spoken gentle lady who loved her flowers. She was happy when she was tending to her flower gardens. She also loved talking about her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed.
Although I only knew Elaine for a short time, when I visited with her she was very gracious and she made my visit enjoyable. I’m sorry I didn’t visit with her more. My condolences to the family. May you rejoice in the knowledge that she is with our Lord.
