Michael Wayne McLeod

Michael Wayne McLeod, age 79, passed away unexpectedly in his home January 5th, 2026. He was born February 10th, 1946, in Dallas, Texas to Catherine and O.W. McLeod.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Marty” Ann McLeod; his daughters, Tessa McLeod Browne and Jessica McLeod Preusser; and his four grandchildren, Anne & Ike Katula, and Ingrid & Ivan Preusser; brother, David McLeod and sister, Mary Ann Spivey and numerous nieces and nephews. Michael graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton and was a proud United States Marine.

He spent 35 years with Bacardi Rum Imports before retiring, though his strong work ethic kept him active until the end. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on his land, and spending time with his family. Michael also had a deep affection for animals, especially dogs. Known for his generosity and easy charm, he never met a stranger and loved spirited conversation. Michael Wayne McLeod will be remembered as a hard worker, a loyal Marine, a loving family man, and a person who left every room warmer than he found it. His legacy lives on through the many lives he touched and the family he loved so deeply. And he smoked some damn good ribs.
