Resided in: New Braunfels, Texas

Beverly Suzanne Volkmann, 67, passed away on January 29, 2026, in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born in Hot Springs, Arkansas, on August 4, 1958, to Arthur and Patricia Miller.

Beverly’s father was in the army, and the family moved frequently during her childhood.  She graduated in 1976, from Roosevelt High School in San Antonio and met her husband of 48 years, Michael Volkmann. They welcomed a son, Michael Volkmann II, in 1981.

Beverly spent most of her career in the medical field, first at Northeast Baptist Hospital as an Admissions Clerk.  Eager to learn more in the field, she became a medical coder for multiple private practices, Brooke Army Medical Center, and the University Health System.  Diligent and generous, she made many lifelong friends throughout her career.

Beverly became a grandmother in 2010, and again in 2015.  Her grandchildren, Claire and Samuel, were her pride and joy.  She always supported their passions and interests, and when the children started school, she was a champion for all things related to their education.  She cheered from the sidelines, helped with carpooling, and was their number one fan.  Her love for them will live forever in their hearts.

Among many interests, Beverly had a special love for collecting Precious Moments figurines. A dream was fulfilled when the family traveled to Missouri and made a stop at the Precious Moments Chapel and Gardens.  Beverly was also known to send meaningful Hallmark cards for every holiday and for every precious moment in the lives of others. Her encouragement and well wishes were always welcomed by her friends and family. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her sister Joyce Lysik, brother-in-law Gene Lysik, nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

A service for Beverly will be held on Monday, February 9th, at 2PM, at Cross Lutheran Church and School in New Braunfels.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cross Lutheran Church and School, Grace Preparatory Academy of New Braunfels, or Hope Hospice of New Braunfels.
